Just in time for the dog days of summer, Annapolis SmokeHouse, a high-end barbecue restaurant, plans to open in late June or early July.
The new eatery is located in the Hillsmere Shopping Center at 107 Hillsmere Dr. in Annapolis.
"We'll be placing a big emphasis on smoked meats," said Jennifer Krohn, an Annapolis resident who, along with her partner Steven Gaines, has more than 20 years experience in the restaurant industry. "We'll be smoking all our meats in-house."
In addition to traditional barbecue fare such as ribs and Texas brisket, the menu will also feature more eclectic items including pulled pork pierogies. Crabcakes, smoked fish and other seafood selections, and a kids' menu will also be available.
"It'll be a very family friendly restaurant," Krohn said.
Annapolis SmokeHouse has also procured a liquor license and will serve liquor, beer and wine.
The restaurant will be open from 11 a.m. to midnight daily, and entrees will run from $10 to $30.
