More than 50,000 children's items are filling up the gym at the Pip Moyer Recreation Center in Annapolis in preparation for this year's Wee-Sale.
The seasonal consignment sale is exclusively for children's items—toys, books, clothing, strollers, pack and plays, jumpers and basically any piece of equipment you could buy for a child.
Now in its sixth year, the Wee-Sale began as an idea from event organizer Mimi Shea, who was searching for places to sell her own used children's items.
"I started the sale as a mom who was trying to sell her stuff, and I was very unhappy with the consignment options out there," sale organizer Mimi Shea said. "I felt like the moms needed an opportunity to get some money back from their own items."
In the past six years, the sale has grown to fill the entire 35,000-square- foot gym at the rec center. Last year's opening day sale had more than 1,200 attend. In response, Thursday's opening will not allow for any children, according to the Wee-Sale's website.
"No children of any kind on opening day. This is for the children's safety as we have so many attend on the first day. Thanks for your understanding," according to the website.
The sale begins Thursday at the "Pip" Moyer Recreation Center at Truxtun Park, 273 Hilltop Lane, Annapolis. The last day of the sale is Sunday.
