Sometimes, only a good work out at the gym will do.
Annapolis has wonderful trails, paths and parks to work out on—and it also has the gyms to match.
And that's why it's so difficult to pick a favorite.
Which brings us to this week's Reader's Choice winner. Based on votes, comments and reviews, the winner is .
Erin Ferner, co-owner of CrossFit, thanked their members and said she is just thankful for their support.
“We’re absolutely thrilled and excited that the community likes us,” Ferner said. “When you open something a little different, you just hope the community will be open-minded and receptive.”
CrossFit, which Ferner co-owns with Ryan Thompson, is celebrating its two-year anniversary in March. It is a strength and conditioning, class-based gym that focuses on high-intensity, functional fitness, Ferner said.
CrossFit was a late addition to the list and still garnered a large percentage of the votes, but it easily attracted the most comments from readers who wanted to support their favorite workout spot.
Reader and fan Jason Wilder put it plain and simple: "CrossFit Annapolis. Hands down."
Reader Jennifer Bornemann: "CrossFit Annapolis has a tremendous community of diverse individuals. The workouts are demanding but awesome. Love it!"

Next week, Patch will be asking for your vote for "Best Spots to Celebrate St. Patrick's Day."
Then I found CrossFit Annapolis. From my first class I knew this was something different. The workouts rarely repeat themselves so you don't experience boredom. The class atmosphere keeps you pushing through the workout, even when you want to quit. The barbell work makes you stronger than you thought possible (I could press 95 pounds when I started; I now press 185). I am in better shape now in my 40's than I was 20 years ago! I can truly say that CrossFit Annapolis has not only changed my view on fitness and exercise, it has also changed my life for the better!
