I had to do a double-take Tuesday afternoon as I was walking along Main Street in downtown Annapolis.
I didn't pay much attention to the shape in the window of one of the storefronts as I braced myself against the bitter wind. Then she moved.
Sarah Doherty wasn't a live mannequin. She's with the and was busy scraping the group's name off the inside of the storefront window.
The art group had occupied the space for six weeks leading up to Christmas, displaying and selling artwork from its members. She said it was the second year the group had its holiday gallery in the same location.
"Everything went well this year," Doherty said. "We sold about 60 pieces of art."
The Maryland Federation of Art has its permanent digs on 18 State Circle, she said.
The group has four member shows each year and is in the midst of its winter show, Doherty said. It also hosts six national shows each year.
