Got this time from a Facebbok friend and thought it was good enough to pass along: If you are afraid you didn't stock up on enough water, you can just fill up a few gallon size Ziploc bags and put them in the freezer. They'll help keep the freezer cool and you can drink the water when it melts. At a minimum, fill up a bag for each member of your household. Filling up the tub is also a great and easy way to ensure that you have a supply of water for use around the house.

I just uploaded two pictures of the flooded Chartridge common area. Pictured is Abby Roberts of Benforest Drive with her grandfather who is visiting from Ohio this weekend.

I know there's a lot more damage out there than I can see from the darkened deck, but I posted a pic of Chartwell yard at 6 p.m. and again at 3 a.m. Too noisy to sleep! Feel fortunate to have power -- heard 98 thousand are without power in AA County on tv a minute ago. Mom in Cape St. Claire lost it last nite at about 8 pm. Haven't heard any change....

We live in Wilderness Point (behind Magothy Forest) and we are one of the fortunate ones that did not lose power. We don't have any damage that we can see either -- just leaves and branches in the yard. Wow, an earthquake and a hurricane in the same week. I'm ready for a little less excitement!

Took a run through Shipley's/Chartwell Sunday morning around 11 am. Tree is down at entrance/exit to Tam Glade on a power line. Tree down on W. Pasadena near Woodland and the church blocking the road. Looked like a tree down on Chartwell golf course that already had been cut up. Mostly branches and leaves down

Traffic lights on Ritchie Highway still out south of Robinson Road. If you don't have to drive anywhere, stay put!

what's the word on school tomorrow- does anybody know?
Kate Hite August 28, 2011 at 09:11 PM
they just announced it about 10 minutes ago. No school in for AAco public schools
No school tomorrow - anne arundel county public schools are closed fo Monday, august 29th. Decisions for Tuesday will not be made till late tomorrow. Power outages contributed to decision - Delegate Cathy Vitale

Cathy, can you please get us an update from bge on when we'll see some trucks in Arnold to restore power? The number to report outages and receive updates isn't providing any type of useful update. A quick drive around the area doesn't show any workers either. Even if the update is that we won't see workers until Wednesday, at least its honest and we can plan accordingly.

Patch has sent Cathy V. this note via FB - calls to BGE outage line state for most areas "as soon as possible" that may be the best we get for the moment..
