No. 1—County Courthouse Begins Marrying Same-Sex Couples
Three sets of newlyweds became the first same-sex couples to say "I do" inside the chapel at the Anne Arundel Circuit Courthouse in Annapolis on Wednesday.

No. 2—Police Offering Reward for Information on Double Shooting
Annapolis Police are offering a cash reward to anyone with information that leads to the arrest of Clarence Eugene Johnson III, who is charged with first-degree murder in a double shooting on Dec. 12.

No. 3—UPDATE: Explosion at Bates Middle School Injures 2 Employees
Bates Middle School was evacuated after an explosion was reported in its boiler room that injured two employees on Wednesday morning. The two men who were in the boiler room were taken to the hospital as a precautionary measure for smoke and soot inhalation. No children were injured.

No. 4—Police Arrest 2 in Connection with Alexander's Spa Robbery
Anne Arundel County police arrested two men in the Annapolis Harbour Center parking lot on New Year’s Eve in connection with robberies at at Alexander’s of Annapolis Salon & Spa and the Dunkin’ Donuts on Riva Road.

No. 5—Custom Marine Canvas Shop Opens in Eastport
Annapolis resident Alan Woodyard has opened a new business called W Marine Canvas at 326 First Street, Suite #101 in Eastport. The shop specializes in custom making bimini tops, dodgers and boat enclosures, but Woodyard said he can create or repair canvas for any part of a boat. He even reupholsters seats. The only fabric that Woodyard doesn't custom make or repair is sails.
