A freeze warning is in effect for early Tuesday morning, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).
Temperatures are expected to drop between the mid-20s and 30s between 3 a.m. and 9 a.m. Tuesday.
"A freeze warning means sub-freezing temperatures are imminent or highly likely. These conditions will kill crops and other sensitive vegetation," the NWS stated.
Gardening Know How offers several suggestions for protecting at-risk plants, including spring and summer vegetables, from frost damage. The website suggests watering sensitive plants before covering them with blankets or sheets. Gardeners can also bring their potted plants inside of their homes.
