Three Annapolis men were charged with soliciting prostitution from plain-clothed police officers on West Street near Monticello Avenue Wednesday night.
Gregorio Garcia Cruz, 32, Abel Franco, 21, and Miguel Hernandez Cruz, 23, all of Annapolis, were each charged with one count of prostitution general and released by the court commissioner, according to police.
Police reported the arrests were made as part of a prostitution detail where several female police officers in plain clothes were assigned to hang out near the Gulf Station on West Street Wednesday evening.
The arrests come after police charged a Takoma Park man over the summer in connection to the operation of a prostitution ring.
In August, Annapolis police arrested Freddy Leguisamon, 27, of Takoma Park, and charged him with 54 counts of general prostitution, eight counts of receiving compensation from human trafficking, five counts of taking another to a place for the purpose of human trafficking, and four counts of operating a prostitution business.
Leguisamon's trial is set for Oct. 29.
