The (APD) provided the following information on recent incidents in the city.
First-degree assault—A group of people who were arguing at about 5 p.m. Tuesday in the 900 block of Royal Street began fighting. Officers said Mark Thompson, 29, of Lanham, went to his car and got a pellet gun that is a replica of a Walther P99 handgun.
The people he was arguing with thought it was a real gun and feared they were going to be shot. Officers arrested and charged Thompson with first-degree assault, second-degree assault and reckless endangerment. The court commissioner released him.
Burglary arrest—Officers arrested and charged Troy Reid, 40, of the 2000 block of Reidville Street in Annapolis with burglary in connection with an incident at a construction site in the 1800 block of George Avenue. Police said he jumped the fence around the construction site and a construction worker saw him in the site and called police.
Burglary—Someone stole a purse from a living room chair, and a set of car keys from a table near the front door of a home in the unit block of Fisk Circle. The person appeared to have entered and exited the house through the front door sometime between 2-6 a.m. Monday. There was no sign of forced entry.
Theft from vehicle—Someone stole four wheels and tires from two vehicles in the 1100 block of West Street sometime between 8 a.m. Friday and 8 a.m. Monday.
Vehicle recovered—Officers recovered a 2005 Mitsubishi Galant Tuesday evening that was reported stolen earlier that morning. Police said at 7 a.m. the owner left the Galant running and the doors unlocked in the 100 block of Brightwater Drive for a few minutes. When she came back it was gone.
Police said they found it at about 9 p.m. in the 700 block of Crisfield Way. They said they found Lamont Crowner, 19, of the 1900 block of Copeland Street with the car. He was arrested and charged with unlawfully taking a vehicle and multiple counts of theft. He is being held on $25,500 bond.
Theft from vehicle—Someone stole a white Apple iPod classic and a brown pair of men's sunglasses from a vehicle parked in a driveway in the unit block of Southgate Avenue. There was no sign of forced entry.
Theft—Someone cut off a 2-foot section of a 4-inch diameter lead-coated copper downspout from the side of a building in the unit block of Maryland Avenue.
Theft from vehicle—Someone stole a grey Garmin Nuvi GPS unit and radar detector from a vehicle in the 900 block of Primrose Road. The incident occurred sometime between 6 p.m. Monday and 6 a.m. Tuesday. There were no signs of forced entry and the vehicle's alarm was not activated at the time of the theft.
