The (APD) provided the following information on recent incidents in the city:
Intruder—A woman told police a man opened her bedroom door early Monday morning and quickly ran away after he saw her in the room. She reportedly locked herself in her bedroom and called police. Police said the man entered her residence in the unit block of Spa View Circle through an unlocked door.
Police said the incident happened at 12:20 a.m. Monday. The man was described by the victim to police as being black, 25-35 years old, between 5 feet 4 inches and 5 feet 6 inches tall and 160-180 pounds. He was reportedly last seen wearing a dark colored shirt and pants.
Burglary—Police said someone entered an apartment in the 700 block of Glenwood Street and stole some chicken salad and a can of salmon when no one was home. The lock on the door may have been forced open. The incident reportedly happened between 11:30 a.m. and 1:10 p.m. Wednesday.
Attempted Burglary—The front door to an apartment was reported as damaged in the 900 block of Primrose Road between 6 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Wednesday. Police said there was no evidence that anyone entered the apartment.
Theft—Over a month, someone reportedly entered an apartment in the 1100 block of Madison Street and stole items worth $3,400. Police said the items included a men's white gold wedding band, two women's yellow gold rings and money. There were no signs of any forced entry and the resident told police she believes she knows who stole the items. The incidents occurred between Jan. 1 and Feb. 8.
Theft—Police said someone stole a Raymond Weil Othello quartz men's watch worth $2,000 from an apartment in the 1000 block of Tallwood Road between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Thursday. There was no sign that someone tried to break in and the resident found the door to the apartment open when he returned home. He told officers that maintenance personnel may have been in the apartment during the day.
Theft—A silver MacBook laptop computer with a green hard cover was reported as stolen from the 100 block of Westgate Circle sometime between 1 p.m. Wednesday and 9 a.m. Friday. The owner told police she left it under a table and it was gone when she returned.
Auto Theft—A 1997 Honda Civic from the 1000 block of Smithville Court was reported as stolen sometime between 10 p.m. Saturday and 9:30 a.m. Sunday. The silver vehicle has a black hood and black rear spoiler with license plate 7AG8657.
Theft from vehicle—Change and a Garmin GPS unit were reported as stolen from an unlocked vehicle that was parked in the 600 bock of Burnside Street sometime between 8 p.m. Saturday and noon Sunday.
Burglary—Someone stole four pairs of Nike Foam sneakers (colored gray, blue, pearl and eggplant) and an Xbox 360 video game console with two controllers. Officers said there was no signs of forced entry into the home in the 200 block of Center Street. The incident occurred sometime between 1:30 and 2 p.m. Sunday.
