Annapolis Man Sentenced for Child Porn Possession

Police said they discovered more than 600 images of child pornography after a search of David Gould's home in February.

A U.S. District Judge sentenced an Annapolis man to three years in prison followed by a lifetime of supervised release, for possession of child pornography on Friday morning.

David Gould, age 59, of Annapolis will also pay a $7,500 fine and be required to register for life as a sex offender once he is released, according to a press release.

Gould pleaded guilty after a search of his home and storage unit in February turned up at least 29 videos and more than 600 images of minors younger than 12 engaging in sexually explicit conduct. The press release states that numerous images were of young children who were bound and restrained, and subject to physical and sexual abuse.

Police obtained the search warrant after they traced images Gould distributed on Sept. 13, 2011.

Gould admitted that he has been trading and collecting child pornography for more than 10 years and that he has discarded multiple computers containing child pornography, according to the release.

Police discovered four laptop computers, seven external hard drives and multiple pieces of removable media during the search of his home and storage unit.

According to the plea agreement, Gould admitted engaging in communications with other Internet users through peer-to-peer (“P2P”) file sharing networks and chat rooms. He told investigators he made numerous digital files containing child pornography available to other P2P users.

This investigation was part of Operation Predator, a nationwide Homeland Security Investigations initiative to protect children from sexual predators.

Homeland Security officials encourage the public to report suspected child predators and any suspicious activity through its toll-free hotline at 866-DHS-2ICE or by completing an online tip form. Both are staffed around the clock by investigators.

I know this man and would have never guessed in a million years he was doing this kind of thing. I fell like throwing up. What a pig, they should lock him up amd throw away the key better yet put him to death.
