Car Crash on Route 50 Sends One to Hospital

Paramedics transported one person to the hospital in critical condition.

A car crash involving two vehicles on eastbound Route 50 at Route 665 sent one person to the hospital in critical condition, according to the Lt. Cliff Kooser of the Anne Arundel County Fire Department.

The accident occured on Friday at approximately 4:00 p.m.

A helicopter was called out for transport, but Kooser said that was canceled when the patient went into trauma arrest—a condition where the heart and lungs cease to function due to a trauma. The person was transported in an ambulance to Anne Arundel County Medical Center in critical condition.

It is not known at this time whether the person or persons in the other car will require medical treatment, Kooser said.
