A couple who reportedly tried to use a butcher knife to force the woman’s ex-boyfriend out of a Brooklyn Park house early Friday morning now face burglary charges in Anne Arundel County.

Police were called to the 200 block of Third Avenue at 12:30 a.m. for a dispute and home invasion. The resident identified two suspects he knew.

Officers were told that both suspects – a man and a woman -- entered the residence, resulting in an argument with the occupants. The male suspect attempted to strike the home’s occupants with a butcher knife as the occupants were trying to force the suspects out of the residence.

Police said that after a brief struggle, both suspects were forced out the front door and they fled the area. A short time later, the suspect vehicle was located in the 6000 block of Ritchie Highway. Both the man and woman were taken into custody without incident.

Corey Knapp, 23, of 1604 Tieman Drive in Glen Burnie was charged with first-degree assault, first-degree burglary, reckless endangerment and possession of CDS-marijuana.

Kayla Baxter, 25, of 207 Linda Avenue in Linthicum was charged with first-degree burglary and second-degree assault.
