A Riverdale man who had arranged to meet another man in the Brooklyn area to buy a used iPhone was instead the victim of an armed robbery, according to the Anne Arundel County Police.
The reported theft happened at 5:24 p.m. Wednesday in the 5000 block of Ritchie Highway, Brooklyn.
Officers met with a 23-year-old man from Riverdale who told police that during the course of the iPhone transaction a suspect showed a handgun, then fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of money.
After identifying a suspect, a search warrant was executed in the 900 block of Victory Avenue which led to an arrest and the recovery of evidence in the case.
Daquan Winston, 20, of the 900 block of Victory Avenue, Brooklyn, was charged with armed robbery, first-degree robbery, handgun used in commission of a felony, and reckless endangerment.
