Drug Dispute Results in Stabbing, Police Say

An Annapolis man was charged in connection with the stabbing of a woman in the 1100 block of Madison Street.

A 35-year-old Annapolis man has been charged with second-degree attempted murder in connection with a stabbing at about midnight on Monday.

Phillip Hyman Jr. was seen arguing with a woman in the 1100 block of Madison Street by a witness about a cigarette dipped in PCP and $20, police said. The witness reportedly told officers that the argument became physical, and Hyman stabbed the woman in the right thigh.

The woman did not cooperate with police and wouldn't provide any information on what happened, according to a police report. She was transported with not life-threatening injuries to Anne Arundel Medical Center.

Police arrested Hyman at a home in the 1100 block Medgar Evers Street where, according to the report, officers found a knife with blood on the blade.

Officials charged Hyman with second-degree attempted murder, first-degree assault, second-degree assault and reckless endangerment.
