Man Robs Severn Savings Bank

Police said the robber may be carrying a handgun.

, located at 1917 West Street, was robbed around 10:45 a.m. Monday morning.

It's unknown how much money the robber was able to steal and he may have a handgun, police said.

Police described the robber as a 6-foot-tall man in his mid-50s or younger who is between 230 and 250 pounds. He also has a full beard or goatee and was wearing glasses, a blue baseball cap, a gray zip-up hooded sweatshirt with a blue shirt underneath, white or tan pants and white sneakers. 

was under lockdown while investigators combed the area for the suspect, authorities said.

Just what we need in Annapolis, a bunch of pistol packers! Whether or not citizens are armed, criminals will always find a way. I am willing to let law enforcement do their job!
