Man With Knife Robbed, Cut Hand of Victim

A man asking for cigarettes approached another and then robbed him on Friday night, police said.

A man allegedly robbed another man and cut his right hand with a knife at 10:45 p.m. Friday, according to an Annapolis police report.

The victim told police he was walking on Tyler Avenue near Janwall Street when a guy he didn't recognize approached him and asked for cigarette. The man then displayed a knife and demanded money, police said.

Police said the man took money from the victim and ran away.

He also cut the victim's right hand with the knife, but police said it didn't seem to be intentional. The victim told police he instinctually reached out for the knife and his hand was cut.
