An Annapolis man died after his motorcycle hit a curb and crashed early Saturday, according to Anne Arundel County Police, who say alcohol may have been a factor in the fatal crash.

Investigators say a 2004 Harley Davidson driven by Forrest Andrew Williams was southbound on Green Holly Drive, passing Ramblewood Drive in Annapolis, when it struck the curb along the center median.

Williams lost control of the vehicle, which caused the motorcycle to crash and he was thrown.

Williams, 54, of Annapolis, was pronounced dead at the scene by Anne Arundel County Fire Department personnel.

The cause of the crash appears to be Williams’ failure to remain right of center, police said. Alcohol and non-compliant headgear also appear to be contributing factors in the accident.

The investigation continues into the crash, which happened just after midnight Saturday morning.
