Annapolis police arrested and charged a North Carolina man in connection with the burglary of two homes in Annapolis.
Police arrested Domekio Blackwell, 24, of North Carolina and charged him with two counts of first- and third-degree burglary, four counts of theft over $1,000, four counts of theft under $1,000, two counts of trespassing and soliciting in the city without a license.
At 5 p.m. Monday, a resident in the 100 block of Melvin Avenue discovered that a PlayStation game console and other items were taken from his home, according to police.
Officers recognized the missing items from an encounter with Blackwell earlier on Monday but, at the time, Blackwell told police the items were his.
Later on Monday, police received a report about a man matching Blackwell’s description soliciting door to door on Wardour Drive. Police said officers located Blackwell in the 600 block of Taylor Avenue with items taken from an unreported burglary in the 200 block of Wardour Drive.
Police arrested and charged Blackwell. As of Tuesday morning, he was being held at the Jennifer Road Detention Center on a $250,000 bond.
