Police Give More Details on Woman Found in South River

Police said the cause of death is still being finalized.

The woman found floating in the South River earlier this week most likely killed herself, the Anne Arundel County Police Department said Wednesday.

At 6:52 p.m. on Monday, police were called to the area of the 3200 block of Harness Creek Road, where a woman was found floating in the water, police said.

Boaters initially saw the body floating, according to police.

Based on the initial investigation, "...evidence recovered suggests that this was a suicide," according to police.

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner has to determine the final cause and manner of death, police said, and the name of the deceased will not be released.
