Police Warn Residents About Burglary Scheme

County police put residents on alert concerning several recent daytime break-ins.

Detectives in the Southern District of Anne Arundel County have issued an alert regarding daytime burglaries and home invasions.

During the past several weeks, police have investigated several residential burglaries, which have happened during daytime hours in Greater Annapolis and the Davidsonville areas.

Police said the suspects typically park in the victim's driveway and knock on the door before attempting to enter the home. If the homeowner is there, the suspect usually will ask for a ficticious person, or give a fake reason for being there.

Police are seeking any information on these suspects, including race, gender, clothing, facial features, hair length and color, plus information on their vehicles, including make, model, tag number, color, and direction of travel.

In the alert, police asked that if any type of suspicious activity occurs in your neighborhood to immediately call 911 and provide the operator with as much information as possible.

If you have already recently experienced this type of suspicious behavior, call Det. Mark Ottley at 410-222-1960.
