Teen Faces Multiple Charges for Trying to Take Scooter, Get Cash

Police report Ronald Dow, a 17-year-old Severn teen, was charged as an adult for an attempted robbery on West Street in Annapolis.

A teen reportedly took a scooter and then threatened the scooter's owner at knife point in an attempt to get cash from a bank in Annapolis on Thursday afternoon.

Ronald Dow, 17, of Severn was charged as an adult, according to a release from the Annapolis Police Department.

Police responded around 12:15 p.m. Thursday to the 2000 block of West Street for a reported robbery in progress. The victim told police that he left his Madison Street apartment and noticed that his scooter was missing. The victim told police that when he walked to the rear of the building, he found the scooter with Dow on it.

According to the police report, Dow held up a knife and demanded money but the victim said he didn’t have any cash. Dow reportedly told the victim they could go to an ATM on the scooter and forced the victim at knifepoint to go.

Once inside the BB&T on West Street, the victim told police he asked a bank teller for help while Dow waited outside.

When police arrived, they reportedly found Dow on the scooter and could not initially locate the knife but later found it in the seat frame of the scooter.

Police said Dow faces charges of attempted armed robbery, attempted robbery, wearing and carrying a dangerous weapon with the intent to injure, second-degree assault, reckless endangerment and theft under $1,000.
