Thief Steals Homework From Teacher's Car

The ungraded papers were inside a tote bag stolen from a teacher's car.

Some fifth-grade students at Annapolis Elementary are getting a pass on their homework: A thief stole a tote bag with their assignments from a teacher's car.

Annapolis police responded to Evolution Gym in the 1800 block of George Avenue on Thursday around 7 p.m. The teacher told police that she entered the gym about an hour earlier to exercise and locked her green tote bag in her car.

She returned to her car to find the front window broken and the tote bag missing.

Inside the bag were papers submitted by her students that still needed to be graded.

Police canvassed the area, but they didn't find the tote bag or the students' papers.

Bob Mosier, a spokesman for Anne Arundel County Public Schools, said the students will not be asked to redo the assignment.
