Annapolis supported the president and the DREAM Act even though both lost in Anne Arundel County.

Annapolis voters broke with Anne Arundel County to support President Barack Obama and the DREAM Act, according to complete but unofficial results from the Anne Arundel County Board of Elections.

Annapolitans also supported same-sex marriage and keeping the Congressional district lines as drawn in greater percentages than the county.

Question 5 (Redistricting)—Annapolis and Anne Arundel County both voted against sending the newly drawn Congressional Districts back to the Statehouse. In Annapolis, 57 percent of voters said yes, while in Anne Arundel County 51 percent voted for the lines.

When groups opposed to the lines gathered signatures for the referendum this year, Anne Arundel County had the most of any Maryland County.

Maryland voters opted to keep the current boundry lines by 64 percent.

Question 6 (Civil Unions)—Annapolis supported same-sex marriage by 61 percent, which is higher than both Anne Arundel County and Maryland, which supported the law at 53 percent and 52 percent respectively.
