City Announces Road Closures Wednesday for Obama's Visit

The president will be attending a meeting at the Westin Annapolis hotel on Wednesday.

Due to President Barack Obama's visit on Wednesday, the city of Annapolis announced that some streets will be closed and public transit will be on a revised schedule for the morning and early afternoon.

Obama will reportedly be attending a meeting with U.S. Democratic senators at the Westin Annapolis hotel on Westgate Circle, which will be closed along with other nearby streets.

Road closures between 9:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. Wednesday include:

  • Westgate Circle
  • West Street at Monticello
  • West Street at Brown Street
  • Spa Road at Brown Street
  • Amos Garrett Boulevard at Constitution Avenue
  • Taylor Avenue at Cedar Park Road

Annapolis Transit will also reroute its service during the same hours, according to the city.

  • The Red, Yellow, Green, Orange, Gold, Brown, and Purple A and B routes will all have irregular service due to rerouting
  • The Business District Circulator will not be in service
