City Dock in downtown Annapolis flooded up to Randall Street and Memorial Circle as water levels rose by more than 4 feet on Tuesday morning and evening due to the impact of Hurricane Sandy.
City employees, concerned about the evening high tide, sandbagged the Market House Tuesday morning in anticipation that flood waters might rise past the closed downtown icon.
High tide on Tuesday evening rose to about the same level as it did in the morning, and the Market House and Market Space businesses were spared.
The highlight of high tide was when a boat pulled up next to the Alex Haley statue to let some people off to go have dinner. Police quickly asked the boat to leave.
