Residents in an Annapolis community can again swim, ride their jet skis, water ski and take to the water at e Bay Ridge Community at Lake Ogleton Clubhouse Pier -- just in time to beat the heat.
High bacteria levels in the lake last week prompted a warning of poor water quality, according to the Anne Arundel County Department of Health.
The department issued a water quality advisory Friday for the Bay Ridge Community after bacteria in waster samples collected on June 9 (262 mpn*/100 milliliters of water) and June 11 (133 mpn/100 ml) exceeded the EPA standard of 104 mpn/100 ml.
The site on Lake Ogleton was resampled on June 16 and the sample results were 1 mpn/100ml, according to a news release from the department of health.
