U.S. Naval Academy graduates rank fourth in the nation for their career earning potentials, according to PayScale’s 2012 College Salary Report.
The annual review ranks 1,058 different universities by the average starting salary and mid-career salary for alumni.
The data on the Naval Academy allows future and current midshipmen to see the earnings potential for different majors at the academy as well as the average salaries for popular cities that academy grads work in.
Ensigns start off on average at $77,000 annually, and earn about $122,000 by mid-career. The survey showed that navy graduates cluster around Washington DC, San Diego, Dallas, Atlanta and Norfolk, VA.
The highest earning major is a bachelor of science in mathematics, which can bring in more than $200,000 annually.
Princeton University ranked number one on PayScales 2012 list, and the United States Military Academy came in at number five.
