Annapolis Man Performs 'Ray Lewis Dance' Underwater

Michael Glass, an attorney and SCUBA diver at the National Aquarium, performed Lewis' signature dance under water in the aquarium's Atlantic Coral Reef exhibit.

An Annapolis attorney donned a wet suit and danced with sharks to show his support for the Baltimore Ravens and its linebacker Ray Lewis.

Michael Glass performed Lewis' signature pregame dance to "Hot in Here" by Nelly inside the National Aquarium's Atlantic Coral Reef exhibit.

"My wife and I go to all the home games, and we are absolutely fanatical fans," Glass said.

When Glass isn't working as an attorney, he's a volunteer diver for the Baltimore aquarium. He said the public relations staff wanted to put together a tribute to the Ravens and Lewis, who announced his retirement after 17 years, before the team's playoff game against the Indianapolis Colts.

"The dive coordinator sent an email to our team that the PR department wanted to do something with the dive team," Glass said. "I emailed back immediately—like within minutes of receiving the email—with yes spelled out in capital letters with many 's' on the end and lots of exclamation points."

So, on Jan. 4 Glass brought his Lewis jersey to work and dove into the water to attempt what he described as "my butchered rendition" of Lewis' dance.

The aquarium staff also dressed in Raven's jerseys and had Margaret, the macaw, tear up papers bearing the Colt's logo.

The Ravens defeated the Colts in a 24-9 victory on Jan. 6. Glass said the victory was bittersweet because it also marked Lewis' final home game.

"It was really actually very emotional," Glass said. "I've been to about every home game they've played for about 17 years ... It's the first time that I can remember that everybody stayed to the very end."

The team is traveling to Denver to take on the Broncos Saturday.
