The Truxtun Park Pool re-opened ahead of schedule Wednesday thanks to the Annapolis Recreation and Parks Department and the Annapolis Fire Department.
The two organizations teamed up to repair and refill the pool after a rubber seal on one of the pipes broke Monday. The initial repairs were estimated to take until at least the weekend.
With extreme heat in the forecast, the Annapolis Recreation and Parks Department called in the Fire Station 35 in Eastport to use a fire hose, attached to a nearby hydrant, to assist with filling of the pool.
This allowed the pool to be filled in half the time it would take by using conventional methods. All appropriate chemicals were added and checked for efficiency.
The pool is now open to the public and all camp participants.
