The Salvation Army based in Annapolis will host a community Thanksgiving dinner on Nov. 24 and needs volunteers. Other needs include volunteers for a variety of Christmas programs in November and December, donations of meals for sorters of Angel Tree gifts, sponsorship of Angel Trees, and donations of non-perishable food. Happy Helpers for the Homeless
On Nov. 19, in recognition of National Family Volunteer Day, Happy Helpers for the Homeless will help to prepare 1,000 sandwiches from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Grace Point Presbyterian Church, 615 Donaldson Ave. in Severn.
If you'd like to do something to help at home, donations are needed for the "Bag a Breakfast Project." Put together a bag breakfast to be distributed to the homeless with a box of cereal, spoon and cup, pastry, fruit, hot chocolate package with cup and spoon, juice box, and napkin. Operation Welcome Home
Volunteers needed every week at BWI Airport International Terminal to welcome military personnel returning home by cheering, clapping and shaking hands to say thanks. Drivers Needed for Regency Park Assisted Living
Winter weather is around the corner so Regency Park Assisted Living is searching for volunteer drivers (with a 4-wheel-drive vehicle), age 21 and older with a good driving record.
