Three local churches have combined efforts to support the school children of Severn. The Back-to-School Bash starts at 5 p.m. Friday with free outdoor games, music and food all evening at Severn United Methodist Church.

The Greene Turtle's Boots & Brews Country Music Festival starts at 2 p.m. in Pasadena and will feature five bands playing throughout the day and ending with headliner Richie Fields. Event runs from 2 to 11 p.m. There will be a $10 cover charge for patio and tent access.
The 24-Hour Theatre Project: The Colonial Players will audition, cast, rehearse and design a theatrical production in just 24 hours. Join the cast and crew at 8 p.m. in Annapolis for the final performance! The event is free and open to the public, but donations will be graciously accepted.
