Annapolis Middle School

Annapolis Middle School (AMS) is "a good place to be," according to the school's motto. It's a sentiment that carries through the purple-and-teal decorated halls and can be felt when spending time with AMS students and staff who are proud of their school.

AMS serves students in grades six to eight and offers the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme (IB MYP). Students throughout Annapolis and surrounding areas may apply to AMS to participate in the IB MYP. AMS is a feeder school for the following Annapolis elementary schools: Eastport, Georgetown East, Hillsmere and Tyler Heights. Students who attend these feeder schools will automatically be enrolled in the IB MYP. After eighth grade, AMS students attend Annapolis High and must apply to continue with the IB MYP there. For information about the IB MYP, go to www.ibo.org/myp.

AMS offers a variety of classes with a world view focus, as well as high school courses such as world languages, Algebra and Geometry. AMS students may choose to take French, Spanish or Chinese. An "activity bus" schedule runs on Wednesdays and Thursdays so students have an opportunity to stay after school for extracurricular activities or tutoring.

There are entrances to the school on both Forest Drive and Spa Road, where there are a few visitor parking spots near the entrance to the main office. Additional parking is available along Spa Road. All visitors to the school must check into the office and present a current, state-issued photo ID.
