Newly renovated Back Creek Nature Park, situated on a small creek that runs into the Chesapeake Bay, is a great spot for both exploration and education. Mainly, the park is home to the Osprey Nature Center, which offers nature education programs for all ages. The center even has a green roof with live plants and teachers can schedule class field trips by contacting The City of Annapolis Recreation and Parks Department. Meanwhile, the park itself has nature trails, picnic tables, benches, bike racks and a pier for kayaks and canoes.

Although the facilities are very nice I would avoid this park and the whole Annapoiis area in general. There are too few parks, most only offer views of hundreds of rich guy toys (boats) and most of the parks have entrance fees. The most unacceptable are the parks that are accessible by permit only. Seems the only reason that Back Creek Nature Park is free is that it smells like feces. A visitor to Maryland would do much better in Talbot, Baltimore or Cecil Counties or across the bridge on Kent Island.
