The Maryland State Compliance Division enforces all Maryland tax laws administered by the Comptroller of the state. This includes both individual and business filings for extensions, missed deadlines and tax liability.

In 2000, the state launched the program "Caught in the Web" which is a listing updated bi-annually with names of businesses and individuals who owe the state totals in the millions of dollars in unpaid taxes, penalties and interest.

The Compliance Division is located in the Goldstein Treasury Building on Calvert Street in Historic Annapolis.
