And please don't even think of leaving your dog in the car, even with the windows cracked, while youRead More go into the store for 'just a minute.'

I took my son to see the graduation ceremony & demo since they allowed the general public toRead More attend. It was very interesting and I'm glad they have put forth the time, money, effort to have this program. It's one more step in keeping us safe!

What an idiot, serves his dumb ass right.
Robert July 11, 2014 at 03:13 pm
At least he has saved the county and state from having to prosecute, again. As a taxpayer, I thankRead More him for putting his stupidity to good use.

Children are being treated for exposure to chlorine at Camp Letts in Edgewater. File|Patch
Walter P Fitzwater Jr July 9, 2014 at 06:55 pm
My daughter also goes to Camp Letts and they told my wife she was not one of the affected kids whenRead More she actually was. My daughter was at Johns Hopkins for two hours before they called my wife to tell her she was there. The person at Camp letts told my wife that my daughter was released from the hospital and was on her way back to camp. that was not the case. My wife and I had to go to the hospital to get her. Quick thinking by the staff, however there is no excuse for the lack of communication.
Ginny Parsons Lee July 9, 2014 at 07:31 pm
wow! that's terrible...now I am worried all over again
Mary Vecellio July 12, 2014 at 06:48 am
It seems to me that the Staff at Camp Letts acted very quickly to keep the children safe. The lackRead More of communication was probably due to panic on the part of hospital personnel, etc. I can understand the frustration and anxiety of the parents but miscommunication does happen when there is an emergency and people panic, even though they have a calm exterior. I've always heard a lot of good things about Camp Letts and I know people who have sent their children there. This is an unfortunate situation, to be sure, but at least the children were taken care of and transported to areas where they could be quickly treated, if necessary. I'm sure Camp Letts will live up to its good reputation and fix what needs to be fixed so no one is in danger in the future.

The police state evolves...

What about all the people talking and texting on their phones while driving. If I was a police man,Read More I could have written out so many tickets this weekend. Marylanders are just ignoring the law about using phones while driving.

Karma, thank you very much!
Crime Solver July 8, 2014 at 09:29 pm
Now let's consider this is a 20 year old who may have violated the law but can not learn nor growRead More from his mistakes from simple shoplifting! We don't know enough to place judgement and label this tragedy as karma and furthermore a family is mourning right now!! Let's keep it respectful and lesson learned that when you engage in criminal mischief then you risk injury or death!!
One Big Day July 9, 2014 at 08:30 am
Don't worry. What's about to happen is that the parents of the thief are going to sue theRead More mall/security officers for chasing him and causing his death and be rewarded some ridiculous amount of millions of dollars then penalize security officers overall by not allowing them to chase thieves so that crime can go unpunished and in this case rewarded. Watch for the latest outcome on this as this is most likely the scenario that will take place.

Where is the state department in all of this? He is a US citizen that was hurt due to violenceRead More between 2 extremist groups. I'm sick of the attitude of the US State department that Israel does no wrong. Fact is no one is correct and if the US was smart, we would keep it's nose out of theocratic foreign politics.
Sal Anthony July 9, 2014 at 02:43 pm
He's a punk who cares
Matthew Silverglate July 9, 2014 at 05:22 pm
Either way, this went to far and is wrong. What I don't get is why, if the kid was knocked out inRead More the first couple seconds, why they had to hold him down and near the end you can see his legs in the air, if he was knocked out they would be on the ground. Also looking at his body language I don't think he threw any Molotov cocktails but when he says he didn't throw rocks he touched his arm, his right arm and since he is right handed this is as psychology would lend to the idea that he is lying, Not to mention the fact that the reported didn't ask him if he threw rocks he said it out of no where... even if he did throw rocks, the police should not be able to do that to him and they need to be punished. I would like to know the full story though, Like lets see the video from the beginning, not half way through.....

Sparklers aren't exactly "fireworks"...we've all been playing with sparklers from the timeRead More we could walk. Accidents happen. Supervision is ESSENTIAL.
Tom Sharp July 7, 2014 at 02:02 pm
I don't think the sparkler is the main issue here. What kind of shirt can go up in flames likeRead More that?

How in the hell do you forget your pets/kids are in the car???
Rochelle Drucker July 7, 2014 at 04:52 pm
Most of the time they don't forget the dog in the car. They figure they will only be gone a shortRead More period of time and it's OK. It's NOT OK and it doesn't take long for the poor animal to die in the hot car.
Crime Solver July 8, 2014 at 09:32 pm
When you decide to be a pet owner you take on responsibility to care for them! They rely on us andRead More in return offer us loyalty and companionship! Hopefully animal control intervenes and does not allow this irresponsible pet owner have any more animals that could be put in harms way!

There is an accident waiting to happen in Woodward-ville to Conway road. Cyclist, there is no roomRead More for you on these roads, you are going to get hurt.
Dawn from Odenton July 1, 2014 at 01:26 pm
Jay, I fully agree with you. It is not only dangerous to the cyclist but also passengers in carsRead More both trying to dodge these bikes and the oncoming vehicles as well, especially around curves. For the safety of all involved, some roads such as Patuxent River Road need to be off limits to cyclists until an additional lane is added for bikes.
Sue Estes July 1, 2014 at 03:30 pm
Your concern is duly noted and appreciated. Stay alert, drive your motor vehicle carefully andRead More according to the law. If you are not confident in your ability to do so, or to judge safe places to pass, then for the safety of all involved - consider driving your vehicle on "other" roads with shoulders, until an additional lane is added. Also, interesting is the latest research that suggests the greater number of cyclists in a given town, the safer it is for walkers and cyclists. So, for the safety of all involved, suggestions to reduce the number of cyclists on those roads does not equate to the present logic.

Wm Thomas Capps June 27, 2014 at 02:20 pm
Just in the past few days there was a sting operation regarding sex trafficking. I have a simpleRead More solution. Pimps should spend 50 years in prison with no parole or probation and life in prison; if they are pimping a minor.
Sal Anthony June 30, 2014 at 09:57 pm
Pimps cannot spend that much time in jail for making minors have sex the libs would scream that isRead More to excessive.

I'm going to say this in no uncertain terms: It is a serious offense. His rights end where hersRead More begin. All people have the right to be free from harassment, no matter what form it comes in. And no one is too old to rock...that's the whole point of rock. And getting old.

Its only been a year!!! Not 2. Idiots.
Robin Anderson June 25, 2014 at 07:14 am
The other news stories I've read say the accident happened in April 2013. It's only been one yearRead More so this article needs correcting. I hope they catch the driver. What kind of person just leaves after hitting a person with their car? How can they just sit by month after month without turning themself in? I know I couldn't live with myself everyday knowing that his friends and family won't have closure as long as there is an unknown driver among us who didn't care enough to stop and still now doesn't care enough to come forward.
