The headquarters for the Anne Arundel County Library (AACL) is tucked behind the Public Works building in the woodedMore Government Park complex off Truman Parkway. This is not a library but the administrative offices for the 15 library branches in the county. In addition to lending books and audio/visual materials, AACL branches offer Wi-Fi and free Internet on more than 300 computers. AACL also maintains a website that allows users to search online collections and databases, review their accounts, place items on hold or renew materials.

The department oversees two swim centers, two golf courses, skateboard parks, school-age childcare and rec sports leagues.
