Public Encouraged to Voice Opinions on Proposed Changes to Annapolis Ward Boundaries
A public hearing will take place Tuesday at City Hall at 7 p.m.
The city’s Ward Boundary Commission and Redistricting Committee is holding a public hearing Tuesday night to allow city residents to voice their thoughts on proposed ward changes. Such a commission is formed to look at ward boundaries every 10 years as a result of the release of the U.S. Census findings, according to the city's website. The hearing will take place at 7 p.m. at City Hall. In November, the commission plans to submit its final recommendations to the Annapolis City Council, according to city officials. Once those recommendations are drafted, it will follow the normal legislative process and the council will have 120 days after the first reading to vote on the boundaries.
