The mom and little brother of a midshipman at the U.S. Naval Academy won the school's first spirit video contest for the Army-Navy Game. The contest invited fans of both teams to submit their own spirit videos last month. The academy and West Point each chose their top three videos, and fans voted for the winners through Facebook. "The video was all my 9-year-old Vincent's idea. He admires his older brother so much and has missed him a lot since he left in June on I-Day," Vicky Vandiver said in an email. Nicholas Vandiver is a first-year student at the academy. Vandiver said she heard about the contest through an article on Annapolis Patch and Vincent asked if he could enter "and send [it] to his big brother as an electronic greeting card …

Here's what the midshipmen at the U.S. Naval Academy will wear when they take on West Point's football team for the Commander-in-Chief’s Trophy on Dec. 8. The 113th game will be played at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia at 3 p.m. Since the rivalry started, the record stands at 56 wins for Navy, 49 for Army and seven ties.
