News of the corporate liquidation comes months after the major chain announced it was closing other locations as part of bankruptcy protection.
Borders Books announced Tuesday that it has decided to liquidate the business and shutter its nearly 400 stores nationwide, including the store at Westfield Annapolis mall. According to reports in The Wall Street Journal, Borders said liquidation of its remaining stores could start as soon as Friday, and it is expected to go out of business for good by the end of September. An employee at the Westfield Annapolis store confirmed the store is closing. Other than that, there isn't much information on just how that will take place. Alliance Française d’Annapolis group offers opportunity to converse in French and gain cultural understanding.
“Parlez-vous français?” If you speak French or wish that you could, take a look at Alliance Française d’Annapolis. The conversation group, started over 25 years ago, defines its mission as “bringing together francophones and francophiles in an atmosphere combining conviviality with cultural curiosity.” The group meets weekly on Thursdays at 10 a.m. at the Borders bookstore at the Westfield Annapolis mall.
