VIDEO: Update on Progress of DRY 85 in Annapolis

The owners of a new speakeasy-style restaurant and bar coming to Main Street offer a video update on the progress.

DRY 85, a new speakeasy-style restaurant and bar, teamed up with Annapolis videographer Michael Eller from Monachetti.com to offer a video progress update. Last month, Patch reported that DRY 85 owner Brian Bolter described the concept as going "into a back garage where it has a nod to the speakeasy flavor"—with a modern twist. Brian Bolter and his wife, Lisa, already own a Main Street restaurant called Red Red Wine Bar that opened in July 2011. DRY 85 will be a few doors down at 193 Main St. In the video, the Bolters thank the community for coming out to support their efforts to get DRY 85 off the ground. The restaurant's focus will be on bourbon, beer and comfort food. And what about the name? DRY 85 gets its name from Sen. John Morris …

Speakeasy-Style Restaurant, Bar Headed to Annapolis

Brian and Lisa Bolter, the owners of Red Red Wine Bar, received approval for their newest Main Street business venture called DRY 85.

Annapolis could have its own prohibition-style speakeasy on Main Street by June now that the city's Board of Appeals has approved a special exception permit for 193 Main Street. "The concept is almost what it would be like today if you went into a back garage where it has a nod to the speakeasy flavor," Brian Bolter said. "We definitely want to put a modern twist on it." Brian Bolter and his wife, Lisa Bolter, already own a Main Street restaurant called Red Red Wine Bar that opened in July 2011. Their newest venture—named DRY 85—will sit just two doors up on Main Street in the empty building next to Castlebay Irish Pub.
