Annapolis Woman Charged in Connection With Murder For Hire

Police say Cynthia Lisa Mills, 47, of Annapolis, helped in planning to murder the wife of the man she was having an affair with.

An Annapolis woman faces multiple charges in connection with a murder for hire plot, according to Anne Arundel County Police. Officers arrested Cynthia Lisa Mills, 47, of Annapolis on Friday afternoon. Police said Mills was having an affair with Wendell Brian Mansel and helped him hire a hitman to murder his wife. Police in Leesburg, VA arrested Mansel in August after he reportedly traveled there for a final meeting with an undercover officer posing as a hitman. Mansel reportedly approached a Leesburg man about wanting to find a contract killer to murder his wife in early 2012, but the man went to the police. A grand jury indicted Mansel on charges of attempted capital murder and solicitation to commit murder in a Loudoun County Circuit …

Annapolis Man Accused of Murder-For-Hire Plot Heads to Trial

A Circuit Court in Virginia has set an April trial date for the Annapolis man accused of trying to hire a hitman to murder his wife.

An Annapolis man accused of trying to hire a man from Virginia to murder his wife will face trial on April 22 in Loudon County, VA, according to online court documents. A grand jury indicted Wendell Brian Mansel on charges of attempted capital murder and solicitation to commit murder in a Loudoun County Circuit Court in October. He was arrested in Virginia in August after Leesburg police said he traveled there for a final meeting with an undercover officer posing as a hitman. Police said Mansel brought a gun and valuables—which were intended to be a partial payment for the murder.
