Naval Academy To Host Brigade Boxing
The championship event on Feb. 22 is open to the public with free admission.
Boxing at the U.S. Naval Academy is a requirement of the physical education program but it's also a tradition, and the 72nd annual Brigade Boxing Championships will be held later this month. The championships will be held during a free, public event on Feb. 22 at 7 p.m. in Alumni Hall. While all midshipmen participate in boxing, it's also offered as a club sport and the Navy boxing team participates in competitions and intramural bouts. According to a press release, the championship "showcases the most elite midshipmen boxers, each performing in three-round matches within their weight class."
