Sharing responsibilities this Thanksgiving may be the key to slowing down and enjoying the holiday.

This year, my mother has decided to do something different for Thanksgiving: delegate. That's right, for once, she isn't going to try to do it all herself. We have guests coming to dinner and she has encouraged them to bring side dishes of their choosing. My mother has employed my father to take care of cleaning the carpets— he called a professional. And me? I am in charge of picking out the flowers. In my family, the centerpiece is about as important as the turkey, so I am taking this responsibility very seriously. The florists in downtown Annapolis each have a website, which is a convenient way to get a price quote or have them delivered if you aren't in the area to do so yourself.
