Woman Robbed on Clay Street

Annapolis Police say a man approached a woman from behind and stole her purse as she walked home on Tuesday evening.

A woman walking home in the 200 block of Clay Street had her purse stolen on Tuesday evening, according to Annapolis Police. Police said the woman had parked her car and was walking home when a man she didn't know passed her on the street. She told police that the man walked by, turned around and grabbed her purse from behind. He didn't say anything or imply he had a weapon, according to a police report. The woman told police that she lost her balance and fell into the street when the man pulled the purse off her shoulder. She did not need medical attention. Robbery on Clay Street Nets Attackers $5

A 46-year-old male was beaten and robbed shortly before 3 a.m. Wednesday while on his way to a bus stop, authorities said.

  A 46-year-old man was walking in the 200 block of Clay St. early Wednesday on his way to a bus stop when he was assaulted by three males and robbed, according to the Annapolis Police Department. The suspects made off with $5 that the victim had in his pocket, according to police. The victim suffered a minor concussion and a cut above his eyebrow, authorities said. He was treated at the Anne Arundel Medical Center and released.

Annapolis Families Receive Keys to New Homes on World Habitat Day

The homes, located on Clay Street, were dedicated by Habitat for Humanity of the Chesapeake.

Eleven Annapolis families celebrated their new Clay Street homes Monday during a dedication ceremony held by Habitat for Humanity of the Chesapeake and the City of Annapolis on World Habitat Day. According to a city press release, ground was broken on the homes on Oct. 5, of last year, with former President Jimmy Carter and First Lady Rosalynn Carter in attendance. The homes were built as part of the Jimmy & Rosalynn Carter Work Project. Patch brought you coverage of the project last October, and spoke with one of the now-homeowners.
