UPDATED: Man Injured in Apparent Base Jump from Crownsville TV Tower

Anne Arundel County police charged two men with trespassing and are looking for a third suspect.

UPDATED (Dec. 22 at 10 a.m.)—Anne Arundel County police said the injured man is Robert Scott Morgan, 25, of the 4400 block of Andes Drive in Fairfax, VA. The other man charged with trespassing was identified as Sean Michael Bullington, 34, of the 400 block of Lana Court in Draper, UT. Police said Morgan climbed the Maryland Public Television radio tower and attempted a base jump, but his parachute did not fully open. According to a release from police, Bullington also was charged with providing a false statement to officers. Police Respond to Third Crownsville Robbery in Five Days

One man was arrested in connection with a July 5 strong-arm robbery and police are still looking for a second suspect.

Anne Arundel County Police said two teenagers were robbed Tuesday night by two men after the teens gave them a ride from a Crownsville beach. The two teenagers, a 17-year-old boy and girl, had just finished swimming when the two men asked them for a ride as the beach was closing, according to a release from police. They gave the men a ride to nearby Arden Park in the 1100 block of Sunrise Beach Road at about 9:50 p.m. Once they got to the park, one of the men demanded the teens give them money and other items, according to the report. The two men then ran away. Police, with the assistance of a K-9 unit, searched but could not find the men. Two Men Arrested in Connection With Two Separate Crownsville Burglaries

County police responded to two burglaries over the holiday weekend and charged two men in the unrelated incidents.

Anne Arundel County Police arrested two men over the holiday weekend in connection with two separate robberies in Crownsville. In the first incident, police said a 27-year-old Glen Burnie man snatched an envelope full of cash from a 68-year-old-man as he sat in his car in front of his home. Police said the victim had returned home to the 1600 block of Crownsville Road at about 12:50 p.m. Friday after stopping at a bank on West Street. According to the police report, Devin Lascola, 27, of the 300 block of Valiant Circle, Glen Burnie, walked up to the man still sitting in his car and asked for directions. Police said Lascola then reached inside and grabbed an envelope containing money from the man’s front shirt pocket. The man struggled and …

Crownsville Organization Receives Donation for Veterans Services

Tee It Up for the Troops donates $12,500 to Second Genesis to provide rehabilitative programs.

A national nonprofit organization for veterans on Sunday gave $12,500 to Second Genesis in Crownsville for its programs in treating homeless veterans with post-traumatic stress disorder, addictions and other mental health issues. The money was donated by Tee It Up for the Troops and will help furnish the Veterans Fitness and Social Center with exercise and recreation equipment, as well as provide a flag pole for the entrance. Second Genesis President and Chief Executive Officer Jack Klimp, a retired marine, presented a plaque to Alex Plechash, president-elect of Tee it up for the Troops. Police Make Arrest in Crownsville Garage Burglaries

Police said Glen Burnie resident Brian Tholen is responsible for a series of garage burglaries that occurred in Crownsville in April and May.

Police arrested a Glen Burnie man who they said is responsible for a series of garage burglaries in Crownsville in April and May. Brian Lawrence Tholen, 27, of Glen Burnie was arrested May 13 at his Forestdale Avenue residence and charged him with burglary, theft and destruction of property. According to a release from police, during the course of investigation officers identified Tholen as a suspect and obtained a search warrant for his home. During the search, detectives said they found items stolen from multiple residences throughout the county, police said. As of 9:40 a.m. Tuesday, Tholen was being held in the Anne Arundel County Detention Center on $175,000 bail. The investigation is ongoing and police ask anyone with information on …

Firefighters Rescue Family Cat from House Fire

County fire department responds to a fire late last night and another early this morning. No injuries were reported.

Anne Arundel County firefighters responded to two unrelated incidents: a fire Sunday night in Annapolis and another early Monday morning in Crownsville. No one was injured in either blaze, but firefighters rescued a cat from a burning home in Crownsville and treated it on the scene. The cat was suffering from smoke inhalation and firefighters provided oxygen to the animal, according to department spokesman Division Chief Michael Cox. The cat recovered. The cat was in a burning single-family home in the 1,000 block of Dockster Road in Crownsville. Firefighters responded to the one-story home at about 6 a.m. and saw fire coming from the rear of the house, Cox said. He said no one was home at the time. It took 24 firefighters about 20 minutes…
