Man Fatally Shot in Annapolis

Officers responded to a call about a man laying outside a residence to discover that he'd been shot.

Annapolis police found a man fatally shot in the 1900 block of Copeland Street around 11:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Officers responded to the Bywater Mutual Homes community for a report of a person who was on the ground outside a residence. They found the man suffering from a gunshot wound. He died at the scene. Police have not released the man's identity pending family notification. This is the first fatal shooting in Annapolis this year. In 2012, two fatal shootings occurred: one at Eastport Terrace and one at Robinwood. Both properties are owned by Annapolis' Housing Authority. Police have not made an arrest in either case.
