Here's a list of what deals local merchants will be offering to shoppers on Nov. 24
Small Business Saturday is Nov. 24 and local businesses in Annapolis are offering the following deals to customers. In addition to the savings below, the Annapolis Business Association will be out in the pocket park at 122 Main St. passing out $25 gift cards to anyone who shows three receipts from downtown small businesses. If you know of or are a small business that isn't included in this list, leave a comment with your business name and special. The owners of the Main Street shop have posted a tongue and cheek sign while it undergoes rennovations due to a parallel parking mishap.
When life hands you lemons, you make lemonade. And when someone crashes a car through the front window of your store, you put up a humorous sign. At least that's the thinking at the Horse Boutique at 158 Main St. A young driver crashed a sport utility vehicle through the front of the downtown Annapolis store while attempting to parallel park on Saturday morning. The accident resulted in two minor injuries, and the store suffered cosmetic damage. The boutique and building owners quickly rushed to clear the broken glass and build a temporary, plywood wall until repairs can be made—which are estimated to take about two weeks. A car struck a 12-year-old boy before crashing through the front of Horse Boutique on Main Street in Annapolis.
UPDATE: (2:14 p.m.)—The driver of a black Ford Edge crashed through the front of Horse Boutique at 158 Main St. while attempting to parallel park around 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Battalion Chief John Menassa said. "We were on our way to the boat show when the car came up and clipped my son," Kristen Wood said. "I was very startled ... I wish it was me and not [him.]" Wood's 12-year-old son William McCurdy was struck in the right hip by the sport utility vehicle. He was checked out by emergency personnel and suffered only minor injuries. McCurdy said he was scared when it happened, but he felt OK. He and his mom will be skipping the Powerboat Show.
