Proctor Returns to Propel Navy Past Troy, 42-14

Navy ends a six-game losing streak, defeating Troy, 42-14. Quarterback Kriss Proctor returns to action, rushes for two touchdowns and throws for another in the win.

There hasn't been much to smile about this season with Navy football. With the health of quarterback Kriss Proctor in question prior to Saturday's game against Troy, Navy head coach Ken Niumatalolo said his senior signal caller did little more than smile to show he was ready to play. Proctor, who missed the Notre Dame game with a dislocated elbow, rushed for two scores and threw one touchdown; as Navy won 42-14, on Senior Day. "I saw him sitting on the training table taping his elbow. He didn't say anything he just smiled, so I just knew he was going to play," Niumatalolo said. "I didn't even ask him if he was going to play. I just looked at him and he just kind of smiled and said, 'let's do this.'" For Navy (3-6), the win signals the end …

Navy Smashed By Southern Miss, 63-35

Missed opportunities and poor defense did the Midshipmen in against Southern Mississippi. The Golden Eagles racked up 584 yards of offense and 63 points in an offensive outburst.

Navy head coach Ken Niumatalolo didn't have much to say after his team's 63-35 loss to Southern Mississippi on Saturday. "It's been a long time since we got our butts whipped like that," Niumatalolo said. "It was a thorough beating." The Mids took their first two drives of the game deep into Southern Miss territory and came away with nothing. The visiting Golden Eagles didn't need much more than that, scoring on their first two possessions, as they ran away with a game in which Niumatatolo said he was out-coached and his team was outplayed. "When you have a 14-point swing like that at the start of the game, it is a huge play. We have to find a way to score," Navy quarterback Kriss Proctor said. The Navy running attack appeared to be …

Air Force Halts Navy Comeback, Survives 35-34 in OT

Down by 18, on two occasions, Navy storms back to force overtime, but ultimately falls to Air Force, 35-34.

Trailing rival Air Force for most of the game, Navy football stormed back to force overtime before falling 35-34, on Saturday. Yet, it's an overtime penalty in the back of the endzone that everyone will remember. "I'm at a loss for words," Navy head coach Ken Niumatalolo said. After Kriss Proctor barrelled into the endzone to give Navy its first lead of the day, the senior quarterback was penalized for unsportsmanlike conduct. The Mids were forced to kick a 25-yard extra point, that the Falcons blocked. Air Forced scored on its possession and knocked off the Mids at home. "Some guy got in my way and I just told him to move explicitly," Proctor said. "It's unfortunate that the refs made a call like that." Proctor, who rushed for 148 yards …

Proctor Runs Navy Past Delaware, 40-17

Senior quarterback Kriss Proctor ran for three touchdowns and threw for another as Navy defeated Delaware, in the Mids season opener.

It took Kriss Proctor all of one minute and 25 seconds to put his mark on the new 2011 season. The senior quarterback from Big Bear City, CA, took the game’s third play from scrimmage 75 yards to the house, as Navy defeated the University of Delaware, 40-17, on Saturday. It was a career-day for Proctor, making just his fourth start for the Mids in his four years. One hundred and seventy-six yards rushing, three scores on the ground and one in the air—the first passing touchdown of his career—led to the lopsided season opening victory for the Mids. "The great thing about it is Kriss will be the first guy to say he can get better. That's the scary thing about it. The kid is a talented kid," Navy head coach Ken Niumatalolo said. "This kid is …
