Another Business Closes in Downtown Annapolis

Madison Boutique is shutting its doors at the end of January after four years on Main Street.

When Madison Boutique put up its going out of business signs, the Main Street shop became the third downtown Annapolis store in three weeks to announce its plans to close for good. "I loved it down here, but it's changed," owner Catharine Incaprera said. "As a business owner, we need foot traffic, and it's seriously, dramatically dropped in the last two years." Incaprera's Main Street store joins Steven's Hardware, which closes in late December, and Shades Unlimited, which closes on Dec. 31. Madison Boutique will be open until the end of January, Incaprera said. This is such a shame. My daughter and I would just stare at the beautiful window displays as we drove by. Many times I'd stop and drag the kids in for 15 or 20 minutes to shop. I loved that the store had so many charming and unique items to offer, yet it wasn't overwhelming for me or my two children. Heard rumors that she may be opening a shop in Virginia Beach. Annapolis Police Searching for Shoplifting Suspects

Man and woman suspected of stealing two necklaces from Madison Boutique on Main Street.

Annapolis Police are looking for two suspects believed to have taken two necklaces worth $80 each from Madison Boutique located at 181 Main Street, Annapolis, MD 21401. The robbery occurred on May 29. According to a statement released by the Police Department, "The male subject is described as 5’8”, 180 lbs, last seen wearing a blue Kangol style hat, horn rimmed glasses, a blue plaid long sleeve shirt, and dark colored shorts and shoes." "The female subject is described as 5’7”, 165 lbs, last seen wearing a multi-colored scarf wrapped around her head, large round earrings, a gold t-shirt, pink or red cropped pants, and black sandals," police said.
